We live in the greatest country on the face of the earth, in large part because of the way our founding fathers designed the legal system. They set the system up in a way which both guarantees individual rights and requires citizen participation. Our community and country may have changed a great deal in the past fifty years, but the procedures followed in Blount County Circuit Court today are not dramatically different now than they were back in the 1940s when my father first practiced law here. The type and number of cases being heard may have changed over the years, but the guarantees and goals of your legal system have stayed the same.
